Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday said that if the current government was a true democratic dispensation, it would have held elections by now. Talking in Quetta, Imran Khan said that had the current government came into power through the people and not the NRO, then elections would have been held in the country.
Quoting the Supreme Court's earlier observation about Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani being a 'dishonest person,' the PTI chief said he should resign. The PTI chairman added that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) should resign from the National Assembly and Punjab Assembly seats if it thinks that the government was destroying the country.
Imran Khan said that the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) and PML-N were not 'ideological' parties and that majority of their members were 'opportunists.'
"I predict that they will not resign from the Punjab Assembly, even if they resign from the National Assembly," he claimed.
