PPP behind Gilani on any fair stance on NRO: Senior leaders say...

Pakistan People's Party (PPP) senior leadership said on Monday that the party will stand behind the Prime Minister in adopting any stance about NRO case that is correct, respectful and constitutional. Senior PPP leaders vowed this in a meeting of some federal ministers and senior leadership of the party held on Monday night in the Presidency and chaired by Co-Chairman PPP President Asif Ali and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
The meeting also appreciated the support extended to the leader of the House and the party by all coalition partners. Briefing about the meeting, Spokesperson to the President, Farhatullah Babar said the meeting reviewed in-depth the current situation and discussed ways and means to overcome the challenges faced by the party and the government.
The spokesperson said the meeting lauded the announcement made by Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on the floor of the House to appear before the honourable Supreme Court in response to the notice on Thursday, January 19. The meeting reiterated confidence in the leadership of Co-Chairman President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani.
