Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 94,384 tonnes of cargo comprising 63,027 tonnes of import cargo and 31,357 tonnes of export cargo including 3,000 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 63,027 tonnes comprised of 12,504 tonnes of containerised cargo; 12,035 tonnes of general cargo; 3,742 tonnes of coal and 34,746 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 31,357 tonnes comprised of 27,672 tonnes of containerised cargo; 155 tonnes of general cargo and 3,530 tonnes of cement. Eight ships namely Cape Moreton, MOL Bravery, Salis, Hyundai Highness, Teamworth No 1, Capricornus Leader, Jin Fu and Stolt Breland with four container ships, one general cargo ship, one vehicles carrier, one bulk cargo ship and one oil tanker respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
Six vessels viz Salis, Shayan-1, CS Discovery, Capricornus Leader, Lotus and Star Cosmos with three container ships, one vehicles carrier, one general cargo ship and one bulk cargo ship respectively are currently at the berths. Three ships namely Shayan-1, CS Discovery and Abdul Latif-S two container ships and one cement carrier are expected to sail on Wednesday.
Four vessels viz Kota Carum, Marcampania, Sino South and MT Lahore carrying two container ships, one project cargo ship and one crude oil tanker respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while six vessels viz APL Brisbane, Al-Manakh, Tabia, SC Tianjin, Ras Ghumay-1 and Vine-2 carrying three container ships, one palm oil tanker, One DAP carrier and one cement carrier respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

A total number of five vessels MV Hiba Al-Noor-B, La Paloma, MV Ocean Eagle, MV Estia and MT Chemroute Sun are currently occupying berths to load/offload cement, rice, coal, diesel oil and edible oil respectively during last 24 hours. As many as nine ships namely MSC Jade, Maersk Kingston, Deira, MSC Anafi, Akaki, Al-Salam-II, Fenghai-11, Bunga Angsana and Gas Ellxir with four container ships, one furnace oil tanker, one diesel oil tanker, two edible oil tankers and one LPG mix tanker are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. A total number of four vessels viz CV Maersk Kingston, CV Deira, CV MSC Anafi and MT Gas Ellxir carrying containers and LPG mix are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal and Engro Vopak Terminal respectively on Tuesday.
