Awan to be made law minister?

Former Law Minister Senator Babar Awan Tuesday called on President Asif Ali Zardari at the President House. Federal Minister for Law Maula Bakhsh Chandio was also present at the meeting. The sources said the prevailing political situation, Supreme Court's order with regard to non-implementation of the NRO verdict were discussed in the meeting.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of allotting an important ministerial slot to Awan. According to sources, it is being expected that Awan would be made Minister of Law, Justice and Human Rights. For this purpose, Law Minister Maula Bakhsh Chandio will resign from his post.
However, Chandio has denied that he will resign from his slot. Speaking to media persons, the Law Minister clarified that he had not submitted his resignation nor was he asked to resign. "I did meet the President, but there was no word about my resignation." The law minister further stated that Prime Minister Gilani would be appearing before the Supreme Court on January 19 and that there existed no clash between the federation and the army.
