Senator Saeeda Iqbal made OPs body chairperson

The Senate Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis (OPs) here on Wednesday elected unopposed Senator Saeeda Iqbal as Chairperson of the Committee. Her name was proposed as Chairperson by Senator Rehana Yahya Baloch and seconded by Senator Naeem Hussain Chattha.
The proceedings of the election were conducted by Secretary Senate Iftikhar ullah Babar, in accordance with the Rule 163 (I) of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the Senate, 1988. Members of the Committee extended warm felicitations to Senator Saeeda Iqbal on her unopposed election.
Speaking on the occasion, the newly elected Chairperson of the Committee thanked the members for reposing confidence in her and reiterated the resolve to work with honesty and devotion. Senator Saeeda said she would seek guidance from experienced members of the Committee. The members of the Committee assured their whole hearted co-operation to the Chairperson.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chairman Senate Mir Jam Muhammad Khan Jamali, Leader of Opposition in the Senate Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haidri, Senators Sabir Ali Baloch, Rehmatullah Kakar, Rehana Yahya Baloch, Tariq Azim Khan, Abdul Ghaffar Qureshi and Naeem Hussain Chattah.
