Fata's water supply scheme completed

In order to overcome the shortage of drinking water supply for the communities living in Landai and Shabizai in Kanri Wam and Sheikh Mella, Darazinda Tehsil of FR D.I.Khan, the Political Administration of FR DIK has constructed drinking water supply systems to benefit approximately 3000 individuals of these areas to get access to water at their doorstep.
The people of these localities had been facing acute shortages of drinking water. At the request of the elders of these communities, Political Administration of FR DIK responded by prioritising these urgent demands and issued orders for the availability of drinking water supply facilities to the people of these villages. These projects were constructed by a local contractor.
A press release issued by the Directorate of Information Fata on Wednesday said, that the drinking water supply project for Landai community was completed by construction of two dug wells, four overhead water tanks of 500 galloons each, one 25 KV transformer with six poles, and a 700-meter distribution pipeline.
The project of drinking water supply at Shabizai in Kanri Wam and Sheikh Mella was completed by installation of two dug wells, four surface water tanks 500 gallons each, one 25 KVA transformer with 6 poles and distribution pipeline. The press release said that the community of Shabizai is strategically located near Mughal Kot Road in Darazinda Tehsil. Local community elders thanked and praised the timely response of the government and said that the provision of basic amenities of life to the remote and less developed areas will help ease the difficulties of the population to a great extent.
