Punjab Governor Latif Khan Khosa has summoned 33rd session of Punjab Assembly here on Thursday (3:00 pm). In the session Punjab Assembly will deliberate on 19 bills sent back by governor of the Province. Punjab Assembly has to cover 100 days in its parliamentary year and the present session is an effort to achieve that target.
Meanwhile Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah speaking to journalists in the pre-session briefing at assembly premises on Wednesday stated that their government firmly believe in process of democracy and was in no mood to derail it. He said if a decision came against Prime Minister Gilani by the court nothing would happen to assemblies. Sanaullah said that in a due process, assembly could again elect its new leader of the House.
Sanaullah averred that that government was facing difficulties because of Babar Awan. He pointed out that because of him situation of conflict between institutions had risen and difficulties were created. Law Minister Punjab said that besides creating difficulties for Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, he has had his own law license even suspended by the highest court.
Rana Sanaullah stated that government was now for few days and his party Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) by resigning from their seats does not want to allow Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) to make interim set up of its own choice. A large number of journalists were present on the occasion.
