TCP clarification

20 Jan, 2012

Apropos a news item carried by Business Recorder in its January 18, 2012, issue under caption "Government using delaying tactics in lifting of sugar from mills: PSMA", TCP would like to clarify that "378,000 MTs of sugar purchased from the local sugar mills in last week of December 2011 and first week of January 2012, will be stored in the sugar mills godowns as per agreement signed with the sugar mills and will be lifted, on need basis.
According to the agreement signed between TCP and the selling units, the latter is responsible for the safety and security of the purchased stock. As far as lifting of sugar is concerned, TCP will issue delivery orders to the Utility Stores Corporation or other government entities, from time to time, depending upon their requirements."
