Three persons killed in road accidents

At least three persons including a woman on Friday lost their lives in separate road mishaps at various parts of the metropolis here. According to police and rescue sources, a 25-year-old man, who was identified as Ghulam Fareed son of Haji Ahmad, was knocked by speedy KMC truck when he was on the way to home from work on his bicycle.
Resultantly, he received fatal injures and died on spot. Police said the incident took place in Awami police remits and the victim was the resident of Korangi no 6. The responsible driver managed to flee while police impounded KMC truck.
In another incident, a 40-year-old woman namely Kulsoom wife of Afzal was crushed to death while crossing the road at Gulbai area, Shersha. Police said the deceased woman was the resident of Shersha and at the time of incident, she was on the way to market to buy groceries.
Meanwhile, an unknown man, who appeared to be in his mid-thirties, was knocked by speedy truck in the limits of Kalri police station. Police said the responsible truck driver, who contused victim's head by the front wheel of truck, managed to escape from the scene. The body was shifted to Civil Hospital Karachi (CHK) and later moved to Edhi morgue for identification.
