Security of Mansoor Ijaz: Army can be called if required: Prime Minister

Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani here on Sunday, meeting parents of Arfa Karim late IT genius stated that it was the job of opposition to embarrass the government and job of the government to show magnanimity in return.
He said that in foreign policy it was the policy of the government to maintain good relations with neighbours. Gilani said diplomatic endeavour was vital to maintain good foreign relations.
Prime minister emphasising on existence of peace and tranquillity stated that country was against policy of confrontation with others and wanted to have good relations with neighbours. He said confrontation was not in the interest of the country.
He, while mentioning number of achievements of their government, boosted that there was no political prisoner in their government tenure. Prime minister while talking about making extra constitutional measures to give security to Mansoor Ijaz, central character to memogate case, stated that this trend was not proper and not in line with constitution.
However, he said that his security was with Interior Ministry, which could be beefed up as per requirement and Rangers and Army could be called as required, he added.
Prime Minister said that memo issue had sent a negative image of the country internationally pointing that Mansoor Ijaz had repeatedly spoken negatively about the Pakistani establishment. He said it seemed like a Viceroy coming to Pakistan pointing billions could not be spent on his security.
He said it was unfortunate that an article in foreign paper would create so much confusion. About Hussain Haqqani former Pak-Us Ambassador, he said that it was because of controversy of media that resignation was taken from him.
He pointed that charges had not been proved against him adding matter against him is sub judice, therefore he did not want to comment on that.
He, however, said that there was no danger to country in case of controversial memo issue.
Prime Minister said that he was willing to listen to any federal secretary in case of a problem adding that federal secretaries were part of their government structure and it was only in their ambit to listen to them.
Gilani mentioning about renowned lawyer Aitizaz Ahsan stated that he had never mentioned anything about appointment of Babar Awan in federal cabinet. He said it was only the prerogative of the government to appointment the ministers.
Prime minister speaking about relations with their political allies said that they respected them as they had maintained relations with them.
Prime Minister speaking about late electronic media wizard Arfa Karim who passed away last week said they were thinking of giving a civil award and setting up a foundation in her memory.
