National Police Bureau Islamabad is in the process of computerisation of police stations and offices record to improve their performance and ensure transparency. Work is being executed under a project entitled Police Record and Office Management Information System, which is functional on test basis in the police stations of the city.
An official source on Sunday said the project launched under the directions of minister for interior, Rehman Malik by installing FIRs and 'roznamacha' modules in different districts of the country. The system would be linked with Federal Investigation Agency headquarter, he said and added it would be helpful in generating FIRs in English and Urdu languages on computer. The system is also designed to compile data of police stations in central database, he added.
The official furthered that data entry in both the modules is in Urdu and all the data is entered and displayed in the same language.
