Commodities like guwar, makai, cottonseed oilcakes, masoor Canada, urad Burma, gram Australia and big Cardamom closed firmer on the wholesale markets during the week ended on January 21, 2012.
On Monday Guwar, big cardamom showed firmer outlook on the opening day on the commodity wholesale markets where above normal fluctuation was marked, Guwar Sindh and Punjab rose sharply higher by Rs 900 to Rs 9600 and Rs 9700, Irri-6 Sindh low type shed Rs 30 to Rs 3020 while better type was put at Rs 3100, cottonseed oilcakes Sindh with bag inferior was put at Rs 650 while the better type rose by Rs 50 to Rs 800.
On Jodia Bazar (per 40 kg) black pepper Singapore yielded Rs 300 to Rs 23,200, black pepper from Brazil lost Rs 1000 to Rs 25000, nutmeg rose to Rs 2500 big cardamom rose by Rs 9000 to Rs 62,000 cloves up by Rs 3000 to Rs 48000 and copra Indian rose by Rs 22 to Rs 6100.
On Tuesday makai low type rose by Rs 125 to Rs 2225 while the better type stayed put at Rs 2250, juwar low type was put at Rs 1900 while the other type shed Rs 150 to Rs 2000, barley Sindh and Mardan rose by Rs 100 to Rs 3550 and Rs 3600, Irri-6 Sindh conceded Rs 20 to Rs 3000 and Rs 3080, cottonseed oilcakes Sindh with bag low type rose by Rs 150 to Rs 700, the other type was put at Rs 800.
On Jodia Bazar Ceylon raw rubber (per lb) RSSV ended lower by Rs 3 to Rs 165 pale crape TPC 3 shed Rs 30 to Rs 170, Latex Semnan Tex lost Rs 60 to Rs 1040 and Thai (GT) shed Rs 60 to Rs 1040.
On Wednesday gur was trading at Rs 4200 and Rs 5200, masoor Canada was quoted at Rs 5000, masoor dal Canada registered at Rs 6000, urad Burma low type gained Rs 100 to Rs 2500 while the other type was put at Rs 3000, guwar Sindh and Mardan lowered by Rs 300 to Rs 9300 and Rs 9400, gram Australia low type rose by Rs 200 to Rs 4800, other type rose by Rs 200 to Rs 5700, gram 50x50 low gained Rs 150 to Rs 5450, while the other variety rose by Rs 250 to Rs 5750, bajra low type retained overnight level at Rs 2400, while the other quality rose by Rs 400 to Rs 3200, cottonseed oilcakes low type lost Rs 100 to Rs 600 while the other kind retained previous level at Rs 800, castorseed Nawabshah lost Rs 125 to Rs 2500 and Rs 2525, Dadu was quoted at Rs 2200 and Rs 2250, rapeseed cakes shed Rs 20 to Rs 810 and Rs 820.
On Jodia Bazar skimmed milk powder (25 kg per bag) Irish skimmed was quoted at Rs 8500, olden burger was down by Rs 1600 to Rs 9800, Vegetable Corolac lost Rs 600 to Rs 9600 and Melco Veg lost Rs 400 to Rs 8600, Sweetened per carton polac closed lower by Rs 150 to Rs 2700.
On Thursday Irri-6 Sindh low variety was unchanged at Rs 3000 while the other type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 3100
On Friday not a single change was seen on the as most of the participants were busy in preparations for Juma prayers.
On Saturday most of the commodity items moved down. Gur lost Rs 200 to Rs 4000-5000 other items were unmoved due to balanced demand and supply position. Gram Australia No 1 low type was unchanged at 4800 while the best type was lower by Rs 100 to Rs 5000, grams Australia dal No 1 was, however, up by Rs 100 to Rs 5600-5800 and grams 50x50 low type was higher by Rs 50 to Rs 5500, the good quality was down by Rs 50 to Rs 5700.Cottonseed oilcake with bag low type was unchanged at Rs 600 while the best type fell by Rs 50 to Rs 750. Irri-6 Sindh shed Rs 30 to Rs 2970-3070, other items retained the overnight levels.
