Innovative has joined hands with Giesecke and Devrient (G&D) of Munich, Germany to provide outstanding value for its customers in the realm of note processing solutions. Currently the banks in Pakistan mostly rely on manual processing pertaining to counting, sorting, authentication and fitness checking of currency notes in circulation.
G&D, with its 160 years of experience behind it in the business of currency notes, has developed a machine which does all of these functions so that the banks have full confidence in the stack of currency notes it provides to its customers for their quantity, genuineness, and fitness. This machine is called NUMERON. It is a small footprint, easy-to-use desktop note processing machine already capable for handling the Pakistani currency notes in circulation. Besides, it can also handle all the other major currencies of the world like the US $, British Pound, EURO, UAE Dirham, Saudi Riyal, Japanese Yen, Chinese Yuan, Russian Ruble, Singapore, Australian and Hong Kong Dollars, to name a few.
With the deployment of these Numeron sorters in commercial banks, the branches can sort currencies on denomination, know the exact count, and determine the authenticity of these currency notes. This will eliminate the possibility of counterfeit currency going into circulation. Besides, the fitness of the notes can also be checked according to the policy of the bank and notes can be isolated which are below the prescribed quality. This feature greatly helps in the feeding of cash in the ATMs. The currency which is fed into the ATMs after being sorted through a Numeron is more likely to have considerably higher availability in the ATM as it has right notes which are less like to get stuck in the ATM dispenser.
G&D has played a leading international role in the field of banknote processing for more than 30 years. The broad range of high-quality banknote processing systems from G&D is able to meet the highest demands of every type of cash center. All of its systems for processing, sorting, and assessing the authenticity and condition of banknotes are continually adapted by G&D to meet legal stipulations, market demands, and security requirements. The processing speeds of 20 banknotes per second or 1200 banknotes per minute in a Numeron and a throughput of 40,000 banknotes per hour for BPS(r) C4.
Numeron - a new dimension in banknote processing The Numeron is an exceptionally compact, end-to-end banknote processing system that includes the CashRay(r) 180 high-tech sensor and a person-machine interface (PMI). When it comes to processing banknotes, the main requirement and the bank's priorities are:
