Security of officials, installations beefed up in Capital

A high level meeting held here on Wednesday decided to ramp up security of important government officials and installations to avert any sabotaging bid in the federal capital.
Informed sources revealed that a special meeting was held here on Wednesday with Interior Minister Rehman Malik in the chair, which was attended by Federal Secretary Interior, Additional Secretary Interior, Chief Commissioner ICT, IGP ICT, DG NCMC and representatives of Rangers, FC and Intelligence Agencies to review the over all security situation in the country.
The meeting particularly reviewed the law and order situation in the federal capital and decided to beef up security at all the pickets during night time. It was decided that security measures including police patrols would be scaled up in the federal capital to avert any untoward incident. During the meeting, the deployment of the Rangers was also suggested. Likewise, the interior minister directed the police to keep an eye on hotels, guesthouses and other public places.
