The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday sought a report from Secretary Finance, Secretary Education and Accountant General Punjab in a contempt of court petition filed by some retired professors and headmasters praying to the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the respondents for not abiding by the court orders. The court took serious notice of the negligence of the respondents and directed them to submit their reply within ten days.
Petitioner Muhammad Rauf and others contended that their pension deposited for last fifteen years has become double but respondent officials were not paying them the double amount of their pension. They had approached the LHC against the respondent and court had directed the concerned officials to pay them the pension with double amount. They approached the respondent for redressal of their grievances.
