Amidst all the controversies, Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ has hit theaters worldwide today. The protests are still under way and members of another fringe group, the Kanpur Kshatriya Mahasabha, has announced a cash reward to anyone who chops off actor Deepika Padukone's nose.
“We have collected a bounty of million rupees from Kanpurites to be given as reward to anyone who will bring the Deepika Padukone's nose,” Kanpur Kshatriya, Mahasabha president Gajendra Singh Rajawat told Press Trust of India.
Just before the release of the movie, security was beefed up in and around all the malls and cinema halls to prevent any untoward incident.
On the other hand, leading lady Deepika is confident about the success of the movie. She is believes that despite the political furor over the film, its box office collection will be earth-shattering. “I am very emotional at this point. I am not someone who has ever been excited so much about box-office numbers but I have to say that this time I am. I think it's going to be earth-shattering,” she said at the HT Most Stylish Awards 2018 on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, SLB’s epic drama has also been cleared for screening in Pakistan. “Padmaavat has been declared fit for public exhibition in the cinema houses without any excision by Central Board of Film Censors (CBFC),” CBFC Chairman Mobashir Hasan tweeted. The movie has been given ‘U’ certification.
