A mass marriage of 50 couples was organised here by the Upleta Memon Association and Welfare Trust. A statement on Sunday said that next time the organisation plans to arrange the mass marriages of 100 couples.
Prominent social worker Haji Masood Parekh said that the Upleta Memon Association and Welfare Trust would continue this positive act in the time to come. One of the event organisers Ms Sabiha Shah stated that the work for such a ceremony was started under the auspices of Women Development Platform quite sometime ago.
She appreciated the efforts of all those who contributed towards this noble task. Yahya Polani, Haji Iqbal Hussain, Abdul Rahim Moosvi, Akhtar Younus Urfa and Haji Yaqoob Muji also expressed their views on the occasion.
