Commodities' prices maintain firm outlook in line with global trend

Prices on the commodities wholesale market maintained firm outlook tracking down rates io global market during the week ended on January 28, 2012. Commodities on the wholesale markets on Monday depicted a few changes, leading among them was Barley Sindh and Mardan which gained Rs 50 to Rs 3750, guwar Sindh and Punjab gained Rs 400 to Rs 9700 and Rs 9800. Rice Irri-6 rose by Rs 30 to Rs 3000 and Rs 3100, Khandsari was quoted at Rs 6000.
On Tuesday Makai low type rose by Rs 50 to Rs 2275 while the other variety was up by Rs 75 to Rs 2325, guwar rose sharply as low type was up by Rs 800 to Rs 10,500, the other quality scored same amount to Rs 10,700, cotton cakes gained Rs 100 to Rs 650 while the better quality was up Rs 150 to Rs 750.
On Jodia Bazar Jute goods twine (per kg) 20x3 brown quoted at Rs 87 and 40x2 brown quoted at Rs 85. Hesian Cloth per 91.44 meter 45x10 Amin lost Rs 100 to Rs 2900, 45x11 shed Rs 100 to Rs 3000 50x9 Thul lot Rs 100 to Rs 2900, 45x11 shed Rs 100 to Rs 3000, 50x9 Thul shed Rs 100 to Rs 2820 and 45x8 shed Rs 25 to Rs 2575.
On Wednesday gram Australia No 1 rose by Rs 100 to Rs 4900 and Rs 5100, gram Australia dal No 1, low type rose by Rs 100 to Rs 5700, better type was up by Rs 200 to Rs 5900, grams 50x50 rose by Rs 100 to Rs 5600 and Rs 6800, cotton cakes in Sindh with bag was down by Rs 100 to Rs 550, while better type was up Rs 50 to Rs 800.
On Thursday wheat old Bardana was recorded at Rs 2650 and Rs 2660 and wheat new bardana was quoted at Rs 2665 and Rs 2675, castorseed, Lasbela conceded Rs 150 to Rs 2000, Castorseed Sindh lost Rs 50 to Rs 1950, castorseed, cakes with bag low type was up by Rs 100 to Rs 650 while better type was down by Rs 50 to Rs 750, Irri-6 Sindh low type was put at Rs 3000, while other type shed Rs 50 to Rs 3050.
,On Friday no change was seen on the wholesale grain and oilseeds markets on Friday as participants were busy in preparations for Juma prayers.
On Jodia Bazar chemical items ended mixed. The variations were : CHEMICAL ITEMS (Per kg): Caustic soda flakes Saudi was quoted at Rs 75, sodium sulphate finished higher by 50 paisa to Rs 16.50, formic acid Pak went down by Rs 2 to Rs 99, formic acid Germany moved upward by Re 1 to Rs 117, oxalic acid China edged down by Rs 5 to Rs 110 and citric acid China finished lower by Rs 6 to Rs 110.
On Saturday leading participants were on the sidelines. Irri-6 Sindh better type was higher by Rs 30 to Rs 3080. Cottonseed oilcake with bag Sindh low type shed Rs 50 to 600 while the good type was inert at Rs 750 due to easy supply position.
