An additional district and sessions judge here Monday directed SHO Shadman police to act in accordance with law on an application seeking registration of murder cases against secretary health Punjab, Punjab Institute of Cardiology Medical Superintendent, and manufacturing companies of the medicine that caused death of over hundred cardiac patients.
The Judge while disposing of a petition of a citizen further directed to SHO to record the statement of petitioner and register a case if any cognisable offence came on the surface. The petitioner contended that over hundred patients had been died after using cardiac medicine manufactured by local pharmaceutical companies and a large number of other had been seriously affected.
He said neither the health department nor the doctors at PIC bothered to check the 'bogus' medicines, which resulted into death of his relative Kareem Sultan and others. The petitioner said police refused to register case against the respondents and prayed to the court to direct respondent SHO to register of murder case against the responsible.
