Police recover three kidnapped women

Rahimyarkhan police recovered three kidnapped women with their illegitimate children, DPO Sohail Zafar Chattha told media representatives. These women were abducted from Khanpur (Rahimyar Khan district) Lahore and Jhelum. They were identified as Maqsooda from Khanpur who was kidnapped in 2002, Saima Bibi from Kala Shah Kaku (Lahore) kidnapped in 2010 and Sana from Jhelum kidnapped in 2008.
Their parents appealed to higher authorities for their recovery but all was in vain. Now the district police claimed to have recovered three abducted women in the Katcha area of Sadiqabad.
DPO Sohail said that these women were kidnapped from different areas of the Punjab province and all of them were raped and tortured during the detention. He said that the police took action against the kidnappers residents of Kacha area near Punjab and Sindh border.
A team had been constituted under Sadiqabad Circle ASP Tanveer Hussain and SHOs Abbas Akhtar, Chaudhry Ghulam Dastgir, Usman Haider Gujjar and sub-inspector Muslim Zia, he informed.
After gun battled, the police succeeded to recover the women from the custody of Lathani Gang, DOP said. The criminals Meera Lathani, the ringleader who bears Rs 500,000 head money, while Afzal Lathani fled away from the scene to the interior Sindh, he added. He further said, "We arrested two members of the gang including Shoukat and Bakhshoo during the operation.
Sana was kidnapped from Jehlum around four years ago, Saima from Lahore near Kala Shah Kako around two years ago and Maqsooda was kidnapped around ten year ago from the Khanpur city, he said.
The women said that the criminals raped them and they gave birth to two illegitimate children namely 5-month-old Zulfiqar and one-and-a-half-year Farzana. After the civil judge Rehan Sabtain direction, the police handed over Saima to her relatives.
