Partly Facetious: Shahbaz Sharif can't refute historical facts

02 Feb, 2012

"Rehman Malik says that he is going to provide the Bangladesh cricket team the same security as the President."
"President Asif Ali Zardari?"
"He is the president of this country whether you are a jiyala or its newer version a Zardi or indeed, a Nawala or a supporter of Imran Khan or a Jamaati or..."
"I thought Shahbaz Sharif doesn't accept Zardari as the President."
"He may want to unseat him but he can't refuse to accept the fact that Zardari is the president of this country, I mean, SS is not quite an Ahmadinejad who challenges historical facts."
"Right, but I can't understand how Malik can ensure the same amount of security as the president to the Bangladesh team."
"Why not?"
"Well, the Bangladesh cricket team is going to play in several cities including in the Punjab."
"So?"
"I thought law and order was a provincial subject notwithstanding the absurd claim made by the Prime Minister during the pre-fizzling out of the Memogate controversy: that he appoints the SHO."
"The Prime Minister was just flexing his muscles, I mean come on the guy should be allowed to do that at least even if the flexing is at a rather low level."
"I thought allowing his wife to make special deals with the Agricultural Development Bank of Pakistan and allowing his family members to receive very expensive gifts was enough flexing."
"I am going to say what the PM says when ever he is asked a question that he doesn't want to answer."
"What? No comment?"
"Nope the matter is sub judice."
"Don't be facetious. Anyway, Malik can't possibly give the Bangladesh team the same security as the president because let's be honest there is no Bilawal House in the Punjab."
"He didn't mean he is going to put the entire team at Bilawal House."
"You know that is an interesting point. I urge the President to consider establishing a Bilawal House in the Punjab. We, the Punjabis should not be penalised for..."
"What about there being no Raiwaind in Sindh."
"Don't ask me that question: I am going to vote for Imran Khan this time."
