Pakistan Muslim League-Q (PML-Q) and Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) on Saturday resolved that forces having affection for the country as well as Islam should forge unity to save the country. The PML-Q senior leader and Federal Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi and SIC Chairman, Sahibzada Fazal Karim told reporters after a meeting here that the country needed a unanimous agenda and comprehensive policies to tackle the manifold challenges.
During the meeting, both the leaders exchanged views on the current political and economic situation faced by the country and expressed the resolve to continue efforts for forging alliance among like minded political and religious forces of the country, sources said.
Moonis Elahi, Kamil Ali Agha, Chaudhry Zaheer uddin, Pir Tariq Wali, Sahibzada Amar Syed, Pir Ghulam Mustafa and Fahim Akhter were also present during the meeting. Talking to reporters, Elahi said that the PML-Q has started efforts for unity of those forces which are protector of Pakistan's Ideology.
"Every patriotic party and individual would have to play its due role for tackling the challenges posed to the country on political and economic fronts," he added. The PML-Q leader said that they had always preferred national interest and their political and governmental role prove that they had no personal agenda. He said: "We would be ready to join hands with all those parties which believe in strengthening the country."
Sahibzada Fazal Karim said on the occasion that SIC and PML-Q has started consultation process for forging alliance for brining real positive change in the country. He said Muslim League is a national party which is striving for steering the country out of prevailing crises.
