Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has said that the issue of Kashmir would have to be settled in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Kashmir and the Kashmiris would have to be given their justified rights and independence to bring lasting peace in the region.
The MQM Chief was talking to Prime Minister, Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed via telephone at MQM's headquarters at Azizabad here on Sunday. The AJK Prime Minister is presently on a visit to Karachi.
Besides, members MQM Rabita Committee, members of the Legislative Assembly of Azad Kashmir, Tahir Khokar and Saleem Butt were also present on the occasion.
Expressing gratitude to the PM of Azad Kashmir for visiting his residence, Altaf said his party strongly condemned the oppression, which is being faced by the people of Occupied Kashmir.
He said the people of Kashmir are not alone and his party offers its unconditional services to them for the cause of their right of self-determination and liberation.
Altaf called upon the international community and the UN that oppression against the people of Occupied Kashmir be stopped and the issue of Kashmir be settled in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Kashmir.
