Capital police nab 31 suspects

Islamabad police on Thursday rounded up 31 suspects during search operation in different parts of the city. Police have conducted search operation in the limits of Bhara Kau, Aabpara, Tarnol, Nilore and Shehzad town police station. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Bani Amin Khan had directed senior police officials to enhance patrolling in their respective areas to curb activities of anti-social elements, an official said.
He said that eight persons were arrested from various parts of the city for their alleged involvement in car theft, pick pocketing, drug pushing and recovered stolen car, narcotics and weapons from their possession. He said that ASI Javed Sultan from Kohsar police nabbed two thieves Aamir Masih and Muzamil and seized stolen valuables. During routine checking, Inspector Lal Din from Anti-Car Lifting Cell (ACLC) impounded a stolen Honda City car (WH-438) and nabbed one of the car occupants Anwar.
ASI Muhammad Nawaz from Margallah police arrested a pickpocket identified as Tahir and recovered stolen cash from him. ASI Ali Asghar from Tarnol police nabbed Mirza Abdul Ghani and Hanif for having 30 bore pistol and 8 MM rifle respectively. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Riaz from Shehzad town police station arrested drug pusher Naseer Ahmed for having 80 gram heroin. He also nabbed an accused Basharat Ali for possessing 30 bore pistol.
