Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said his party will not topple federal government to prevent the looters of national wealth becoming an aggrieved party to get pubic sympathies. Addressing a gathering of the PML-N workers here at the residence of former provincial minister Moin Riaz Qureshi on Friday, he said his party did not want to give free hand to the plunderers of national exchequer by resigning from the assemblies.
"If the government is toppled in any unconstitutional way, they'll get a chance to become an aggrieved party. But we'll thwart all of their designs to gather sympathies for next polls," he declared. He was of the opinion that passage of 20th amendment by the parliament was a great success of the N-League. "Establishment of an impartial caretaker government and an independent election commission before elections is the triumph of democracy. It's the success of our agenda," he claimed.
He said enormous flow of people joining Nawaz League was proof of the fact that it was the most popular party of the country, added that mere slogans could not bring any change in the country. He said candidates of his party were going to contest by-polls against those, who looted national wealth, set worst examples of corruption and gave the nation gifts like power and fertiliser crises. He said that today the entire world pointed finger towards the group of looters led by Zardari.
