Electricity theft: cable operator caught red-handed

A special checking team of Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) caught a cable operator red-handed while stealing electricity. According to the Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO) officials, the special checking team, urban sub-division of Charsadda, checked the premises of Cable Network in Mahar Plaza, Mardan Road, Charsadda and caught Zahid, son of Fazli Rohan, and Qaiser Mehmood who were allegedly steeling electricity through direct hook for their cable network station.
The accused also interfered in the affairs of the Peshawar Electricity Supply Company (PESCO)officials and resisted through taking them at gunpoint and forcefully stopped them from removing the direct hooks. On the Special directives of Chief Executive, Mohammad Wali, PESCO has launched operation against the illegal use of electricity. The incident has been brought in the notice of higher officials and police station concerned for registration of formal FIR and legal action.
Charge assumed Pervez Akhtar Shah Kakakhel has assumed charge as Chief Engineer PESCO Customer Services; notification has been issued here from WAPDA House on Friday. The 65th meeting of the Board of Directors had accorded approval to his promotion from Grade-19 to Grade-20. He had served as SE, PESCO Khyber Circle. Pervez Akhtar Shah Kakakhel joined WAPDA as SDO in 1978. He belongs to notable family of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Speaking on the occasion, Kakakehl vowed that he will do his best to make PESCO as a profitable company. He hinted at introducing changes in Customer Services Department to redress the complaints of consumers at their doorstep and overcoming of the problem of over-billing.
