Renowned folk singer Naseem Akhtar died here on Sunday. She was 55.
She sung a number of Seraiki, Punjabi and Urdu songs which are popular in the country. She also earned name in anthems, Kafis and Ghazals. DG Radio Pakistan Murtaza Solangi paid rich tribute to the legend singer and termed her death a great loss.
Similarly, Syed Ahmed Mujtuba Gilani, MPA Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani and PM's media co-ordinator Khwaja Rizwan Aalam expressed sorrow over the death of the singer.
Radio Pakistan's Multan station director Khursheed Malik termed the death a national loss. He said that the services rendered by Naseem Akhtar would be remembered for a long time.
