Sialkot Police have arrested a most wanted criminal involved in dozens of murders and ransom incidents, disclosed District Police Officer (DPO) Sialkot Syed Mohsin Naqvi in a news conference on Sunday.
Giving details, the DPO said that the police had arrested the culprit after hectic efforts and wanted in dozens of incidents including dacoit, murder and ransom.
The wanted man was arrested from Daska after hectic efforts because he opened fire on police party.
The DPO disclosed that culprit Yasir was running his network in Dubai, and activated his group in Pakistan including firing squad for killing the innocent people and receiving the amount of ransom from the people.
The DPO said the culprit had received heavy amount of ransom from Sialkot, Daska and Sambrial areas of Sialkot district, adding that interrogation was underway and thrilling revelation are expected.
During initial interrogation, the police had also recovered bogus computerised national identity card and press cards from his possession.
Due to his terror and threats of killing a large number of people had not registered any report with the police, he said. The DPO said that Sialkot district would be purged from the criminals and anti-social elements and police would protect the life and property of the people.
On this occasion DPO appealed to the editors of dailies, news agencies and TV channels that they should verify the person before issuing the identity cards.
The most wanted man (Yasir) was also produced in the news conference, who confessed various incidents of murders and ransom and replied the questions of media dashingly. A large number of members of civil society, religious leaders and members of business community were also present in the news conference.
