72 projects under Punjab special package completed

Seventy-two projects under Punjab Special Package have been completed while work is speedily going on the remaining 71 projects which will be completed by May 15, 2012, throughout the province.
This was stated by Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Chaudhry Abdul Ghafoor during review of various ongoing development projects under Punjab Special Package. Secretary Planning and Directors Finance and Development of all divisions of Punjab were present on the occasion.
The Minister said that under Punjab Special Package, an amount of 9,508 million rupees was released for different development schemes in the province out of which 9,138 million rupees have so far been spent.
He said all the projects of the package are in the final stages of completion in Bahawalpur division while the pace of work is being enhanced on public welfare projects in Lahore division especially the projects relating to communication, education and health are being completed on priority basis.
