22 Feb, 2012

PML-N Provincial leader, Farid Toofan has warned that they will move court against the proposed privatisation of Bank of Khyber (BoK) and asked the provincial government to refrain from such anti-worker step, otherwise a full-fledged protest campaign would launch against it.
Speaking at a news conference here on Tuesday, he said the BoK was well earning institute of the province, which was privatising under an organised plan, adding that bank privatisation would lead huge scale unemployment. He asked the government to shun anti-worker policies and economic genocide of poor families of employees.
Farid Toofan said that rulers wanted to accumulate commission by privatising most earning institutes, adding that business and economic activities had adversely shattered in wake of deteriorating law and order situation in the province. He said that unemployment, price hike, lawlessness and corruption were at peak level, whereas such silly steps would further aggravate situation.
Flanked by BoK Association President and employees, he said the government should privatise PIA and Railway instead of taking such step against most earning financial institutions, like BoK. PML-N leader said owing to growing corruption, the national institutions like Pakistan Steel Mill, PIA and Railway were facing huge financial obstacles, whereas the sell of income generation and lucrative institutes were totally unjustified and unwise step.
