Jamaate Islami (JI), Ameer, Syed Munawar Hasan, has said that the desecration of the Holy Quran by US soldiers in Afghanistan proved that despite massacring millions of innocent Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan, the US was morally and culturally defeated and now had shown such dirty tactics.
Addressing after a Friday congregation at Mansoora, he said that several civilisations arising against the west had vanished but the Islamic civilisation was the only one that stood firmly. This was irritating the west and it had come down to dirty tricks. Munawar Hasan exhorted the Muslim rulers to protest over the desecration of the Quran and asked if OIC is still alive, it should also lodge protest on that incidents.
At the same time, he said, the teachings of the Holy Quran and the life of the Noble Prophet should be propagated extensively to remove the misgivings in the western mind. He said the Americans themselves claimed to human rights champions but had proved them biased and narrow minded.
Referring to the Balochistan situation, the JI Ameer said instead of calling an APC, the government should announce a clear agenda. He said the US house resolution on Balochistan had exposed the Americans while India was interfering in the province from Afghanistan. He said that the Interior Minister had talked of amnesty for Baloch leaders but at the same time, the people protesting outside the Karachi Press Club against the killing of abducted Baloch people had been driven out.
Such negative activities and wrong attitude of the rulers had sown the seed of hatred among the Balochistan people and aggravated the situation. Munawar Hasan said that Baloch were patriotic people and only a few of them talked of separation. He said unfortunately, the biggest and the richest province of the country was facing the fifth military operation and its people were deprived of their resources.
He said an APC at government level was something incomprehensible. The government never held APCs as they had the authority and knew their agenda. If the government gave up the policies that had worsened the Balochistan situation, the things could improve, he added. He said instead of repenting in future, it would be wiser to put our house in order, right now. The Balochistan leadership should be taken into confidence.
