26 Feb, 2012

Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) has appealed to the Chief Minister Punjab to re-start the anti quackery campaign on top priority basis before the dengue case resurfaces again.
PMA Punjab office bearers Professor Dr Ashraf Nizami, Dr Akhter Rasheed Malik, Dr Muhammad Tanveer Anwar, Dr Izhar Ahmed Chaudhry, Dr Shahid Malik, Dr Ihsanur Rehman, Dr Yasmeen Ihsan, Dr Sabahat Habib & Dr Salman Kazmi have further added that last year during the dengue fever epidemic more than 250 patients died who had been miss managed by the quacks and on this Chief Minister Punjab had constituted a three member committee headed by the secretary food to eradicate the quacks from the city.
However, complete eradication was not done and now all those fake doctors have reopened their clinics and are once again playing with the lives of the public. PMA has appealed to the Chief Minister that as dengue help lines and dengue centers at all towns of the city are being established similarly the complaints against quacks need to be registered on the same help lines and a full fledged anti quackery campaign needs to be started to save the lives of the public in case of any out break of dengue fever.
