Jamat-e-Islami leader and ex-MNA Samia Raheel Qazi on Sunday criticising the government's failure in regard of women's development said the rulers claimed to work for women in Pakistan while on the other hand women are practically exploited in every field of life.
Addressing the participants on the eve of distributing sewing machines and diploma certificates among those women who completed their sewing courses from an embroidery school under the aegis of Al-Khidmat Trust Women here on Sunday, Samia Raheel Qazi said the Punjab government is exploiting women blatantly and did not pay the salaries to those women who were recruited during a campaign against dengue in Punjab for the last five months. She said stoppage of women's salaries is a crime and the Punjab government should pay their salaries immediately. She said the government should also focus on imparting vocational training to women so that they could also help their families in earning bread and butter.
She said women are vital parts of the society and could play important role for the progress of the country. "Women's rights and their protection should be ensured at every cost but the government does nothing despite paying lip services for women in the country," she added.
Stars of Islam in charge Saira Abrar and Al-Khidmat Trust Women Lahore in charge Saima Bashir were also present on this occasion.
