Jamaat-e-Islami flays increase in PIA fares for Chitral

Activists of Jamaat-e-Islami on Wednesday staged a protest demonstration outside Peshawar Press Club against the hike in PIA fares for Chitral, demanding its immediate withdrawal. The protest demonstration led by JI Naib Ameer Sirajul Haq, former MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali, Asmatullah, and Qari Ahmad Saeed and along with dozens of activists. The protesters were holding placards and banners inscribed slogans against the recent hike in PIA fares for Chitral.
Sirajul Haq while talking to reporters expressed grave concern over solely increased PIA fares for Chitral, which is totally injustice and unfair with the people of the area. We will not accept any step-motherly attitude against the Chitrali, he warned. He said that the increase would multiple miseries of Chitrali and called for its immediate withdrawal.
Sirajul Haq said that government has failed to address the key issues confronting during passage of four years, saying that unemployment, corruption, lawlessness are at the peak level in province. He said rulers are least bothered to pay attention toward the people's issues, adding that the growing price hike, increased power tariff, and skyrocketing prices of essential commodities are reflected failure on the part of present government.
Former MNA Mualana Abdul Akbar Chitrali said that government always treated with discriminatory attitude the people of Chitral, adding that the recent increase in PIA fares is glaring example of step-motherly attitude of the government.
