The quiet and peaceful ambience of Zarah David's landscapes reveals her strong sense of art which she shares through her paintings in a solo exhibition at Ocean Art Galleries, Karachi. Art is in her blood. Daughter of renowned artists Anna Molka Ahmed and Sheikh Ahmed she experience art activities since her childhood raised by her mother a strong and active art supporter who worked hard so that art thrives in Pakistan.
Seeing all the motion and commotion in the art world an artist inside her grow steadily with time. She acquired Masters Degree in Fine Art from Punjab University and from there she got direct exposure with nature at on spot painting training sessions.
She portrays the nature according to her perception. The serene landscapes with soft and light tones show an amalgam of her observation and imagination just like speaking in a subdued tone. Even the red and blue are not loud or intense providing a sober assessment of the situation.
Zarah David's view of landscape is different from others her unique sensibility takes her to a very different atmosphere. Her paintings are her own visuals about a landscape which is definitely distinct and unusual. She has the most suitable skill and technique involved in producing visual representations.
Most of her show loneliness which is the prevailing mood of her paintings. The scene in her paintings depicts the depth of feelings. The emotional tone of her paintings is the basic asset of her work.
A sense of beauty which comes with the word landscape can be seen in Zarah's painting. She makes sure that the emotions and thinking related to landscapes are intact while painting a landscape.
The beauty of her landscapes lies in the surreal impressions she conceives. Light and dark shades of various colours from vibrant red and deep blue to shinny whites diffuse to form a complex composition showing human emotions and experiences.
The paintings have an aura of mystery. The foggy landscapes sometimes show human figures and huts along with foliage, which it seems as the reflections of imaginative world.
The paintings titles 'Me', 'In awe', 'Toil', 'Sunset', 'Dream' reveals what the painter wants to convey in her particular painting. She see the world with new angle and has certainly different feelings about everything including landscapes. The paintings portray every aspect of life.
She expresses herself very clearly in the paintings sometimes about the beautiful night the other time about the sunset, the moonlight and the sky.
