The oil marketing companies have increased furnace oil price by Rs 1,945 per ton in line with increase in this commodity's price on international market. All marketing companies have fixed new prices for furnace oil with immediate effect and with current increase furnace oil price has crossed Rs 82,000 per ton mark on the domestic market.
Market sources said that furnace oil price was increased by some 2.42 percent or Rs 1,945 per ton. Now furnace oil will be available at average price of Rs 82,229 per ton as compared to Rs 80,248 per ton which was previously available on the domestic market. The new prices will be for the next 15 days and in case of further increase in international market, marketing companies will also pass on the hike to consumers, they added.
