TSH chief threatens to follow Baloch people's footsteps: if demand for Hazara province not accepted

05 Mar, 2012

Chairman, Tehreek-e-Suba Hazara (TSH), Baba Haider Zaman, on Sunday warned the government of following the Baloch people's path of dissidence if the government did not fulfil the demands of people of Hazara for creating a new province.
Addressing a public gathering held at Bagh-e-Jinnah adjacent to Mazar-e-Quaid, which was attended by a large number of people hailing from Hazara division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, he reiterated his demand of creating a new province in Hazara division.
It was the very first gathering in Karachi under the banner of TSH, which is struggling for creation of Hazara province. He said the PPP-led government should create new provinces if it really wanted to save the country.
He was of the view that the judiciary had taken scores of suo motu notices on nearly all issues but did nothing for the people of Hazara division, as a number of activists were killed during the movement for the separate province.
He claimed that the TSH was a mouthpiece of 3.5 million people of Hazara and its struggle for a new federating unit was truly political. He said TSH was founded to safeguard the rights of the people.
Haider Zaman lauded Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) for supporting TSH cause. He also announced to support the MQM reciprocally, saying his own people ignored the cause.
He criticised Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani for making efforts to create only Saraiki province and not Hazara. He questioned whether the Prime Minister represented only Saraiki belt of the country. He asked Gilani to quit the country's premiership for being 'narrowed-minded.'
He said people of Hazara had largely contributed in the development of Karachi, saying that the metropolis was a peaceful city. He urged his people to continue working towards the betterment and peace in the city.
