LSE launches Continuous Professional Development Programme

Lahore Stock Exchange Limited has initiated the Continuous Professional Development Programme for its continual efforts for the capacity building of its member's brokers. In this purpose, Affan Sajjad (ACA), Head of Corporate Finance-Agritech Ltd (Formerly Pak-American Fertilisers Ltd), was invited to brief the members of the Lahore Stock Exchange about "Financial Modelling and Corporate Valuations.
The presentation was attended by the senior members including Engineer Mazhar Rafique, Afzal Rahat, Dr Yasir Mahmood, Habib Ullah Sheikh, Asif Baig Mirza and active/working members of the Lahore Stock Exchange. Affan Sajjad highlighted the importance of Financial Modeling as an integral part of Financial Decision Making to Capital Budgeting, Investment appraisals, financial projections, Equity Investments, Credit analysis. Financial Modeling supports analysts, Investment Managers; finance Managers, Chief Financial Officers, Bankers, Equity investors and credit rating agencies in analysing the financial viability of the company, future strategies, investment decisions, projects, acquisitions and mergers.
He added that corporate valuation is used for the purposes of investment, Merger and Acquisitions. It is extensively applied when companies issue new shares, divest operations or acquire other companies. He further explained the various advisory services which members can offer to their clients such as corporate and financial advisory on public offering, evaluating and recommending investment opportunities, research reports and analysis.
As part of the Continuous Professional Development Programme, it was the third programme on the capacity building of the members of the Exchange. Members Continuous Profess-ional Development Programme is a series of seminars, workshops, presentations and training sessions aimed at capacity building of members of the Lahore Stock Exchange.-PR
