Taiwan stocks fell 0.44 percent to an over two-week closing low on Wednesday, joining global bourses in declines as risk aversion took hold, but smartphone maker HTC ended higher after saying its February sales rose from the previous month. The main TAIEX index slipped 34.89 points to 7,903.08, its lowest level since mid-February and its fourth straight losing session.
The two worst performers were food and plastics, both down over 1 percent. HTC inched up 0.49 percent, while electronics shares slid 0.3 percent.
