Mainly dry weather likely

Director General, Meteorological Department Arif Mehmood said on Friday that mainly dry weather will persist in most parts of the country during the next few days. However, rain/thunderstorm with light snowfall likely at isolated places of Malakand division, Gilgit-Baltistan/Kashmir and adjoining hilly areas, he said.
Weather remained dry in most parts of the country during last 24 hours. However, thunderstorm/rain and light snowfall over the hills occurred at few places of Rawalpindi/ Islamabad, Hazara division, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Cold winds are hitting plane areas due to snowfall in upper areas including Neelum Valley and Lipa Valley while cold weather again grips Sindh including Karachi; however, rain is not expected during next few days, Arif said.
Cold weather has also gripped most parts of Balochistan with extreme cold winds. Chief amount of rainfall during last 24 hours in Rawalakot was 7mm, Kakul 4mm. Lowest temperature recorded in Astore -6 C, Quetta, Bunji and Kalam -4 C, Skardu, Parachinar and Rawalakot -3 C. Whereas pollen count is 104 per cubic meter.
