Dengue virus surfaces again in Lahore

With change in weather conditions, dengue virus has again surfaced, as a local private laboratory has tested positive one positive dengue case in Lahore. A 22-year Abdullah, resident of Johar Town Lahore, has been tested positive as dengue victim. His NS-I test is found positive after blood test.
Health officials have not so far confirmed this case. However, officials are working to remove larva of dengue virus existing in different areas of Lahore. Moreover, addressing a seminar on dengue at Government College for Women Gulberg on Saturday, PML-N leader Umar Sohail Zia Butt said "women constitute more than 50 percent population of the country and if every woman makes determination to keep her house neat and clean, the country can be saved from the dengue disease."
He said there was a need of fighting against dengue instead of fearing from it. He said, "If every citizen makes cleanliness a permanent habit of his life, the dengue can be controlled," and added that desired results could be achieved by creating maximum awareness among the masses regarding dengue and adopting preventive measures.
