Berli Jucker Pcl, a Thai trading company controlled by billionaire Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi, is targeting 20 percent sales growth this year, aiming to expand in Myanmar and Vietnam to position itself for a planned single market in Southeast Asia.
The company already has a presence in much of the region, but sees consumption rising particularly strongly in those two countries, with their large populations, President Aswin Techajaroenvikul told Reuters in an interview.
Berli Jucker, 70.6 percent owned by unlisted TCC Holding, would invest 4 billion baht ($130 million) this year in machinery and land purchases on top of any acquisition, he said, adding that it had a high EBITDA of more than 5 billion baht with a low interest-bearing-debt-to-equity ratio of about 0.8.
