A prominent artiste of Pakistan Television (PTV),Tahira Wasti, passed away here on Sunday. She was 68. A PTV official said that late Ms Tahira Wasti had appeared in numerous dramas of the PTV, including the long duration plays. Sindh Minister for Information, Ms Shazia Marri, has expressed sorrow and grief at the demise of Ms Tahira Wasti.
Sindh Minister for Culture, Ms Sassi Palijo, has also condoled the deat of Tahira Wasti. They prayed to Almighty Allah to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved family.
President, PM condole death
Meanwhile, President and PM condoled the death of Tahira Wasti: President Asif Ali Zardari on Sunday expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow over death of famous television and film artiste Tahira Wasti.
In his message of condolence, the President said contribution of Tahira Wasti in promotion of film and television industry is a source of inspiration for the new generation.
The President prayed to Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear the loss with fortitude.
Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani has also expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow over the death of Tahira Wasti. The prime minister said she was a great human being and a talented artiste whose contribution to the film and TV industry would be long remembered.
He prayed to Almighty Allah to grant eternal peace to the departed soul and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.
