BoP launches women entrepreneur's finance scheme

In celebration of International Women's Day, Bank of Punjab has launched the Women Entrepreneur's Finance Scheme (WEFS), one of its kind financing schemes. Through this scheme, two billion rupees has been allocated for the empowerment of women entrepreneurs, enabling them to launch businesses or expand their operations across Punjab.
To familiarise the merits of this scheme, BoP established a stall at the Women's Day function organised by the Government of Punjab at Al Hamra Cultural Complex, Qaddafi Stadium Lahore. Women showed great response to the scheme, and took keen interest in the merits and conditions of the facility.
The CM Punjab also visited the BoP stall and appreciated the initiative, and lauded BoP for their support in empowering women through this uniquely designed finance scheme. The scheme provides working capital for certain types of businesses, including day care units, personal care and grooming, eateries, fitness and fashion, vocational institutes, educational and teaching institutes, catering, event management, furniture and other projects. Women between the ages of 30 to 55 years are eligible to apply for the loan with proper documentation and a minimum three years experience in a relevant field.
