Threats of terrorist attacks: LEAs comb areas adjacent to Margalla Hills

In the wake of increasing threats of terrorist attacks the law enforcement agencies on Friday combed the areas adjacent to Margalla Hills and maintained high alert across the city to avert any untoward incident. Combing was carried out following intelligence reports of a possible terror attempt in the city.
"Over 200 police personnel of capital police led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Saddar Sajid Kinai and SP City Muhammad Ilyas combed nearby areas of Margalla Hills", a police official said. The official said that police commandos including lady commandos, women police also participated in combing and search operation while sniffer dogs were also used in some areas. This search operation will continue in the coming days and include sensitive areas, including sensitive installations, to ensure foolproof security in the city.
In the first week of February, the police along with Rangers carried out a search operation in the Margalla Hills following intelligence reports of terrorist attacks in the city from the Margalla Hills side. Security forces have identified 13 sensitive points on the hills where sensitive military and civilian installations in the city could be targeted by terrorists. Over 100 rangers have also been deployed at Margalla Hills to maintain high vigilance against terrorists. Station House Officers (SHOs) of all police stations have also been directed to maintain high vigilance in their respective areas. Search operations are being conducted also in slums, inns, hotels, restaurants and Afghan habitats.
