Former military officers from Fata join PTI

17 Mar, 2012

Former military officers from Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) announced to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) here on Friday. Captain Tahir Afridi (Retd) and Major Sharif (Retd) made announcement during a press conference here at Peshawar Press Club. They expressed full confidence over the central leadership of PTI.
Both ex-military officers said that PTI was only driven force to pull the country out of prevailing messy situation. The growing price hike, rampant corruption, power crisis and unemployment are reflected by the poor performance of the present coalition government in the country, they maintained.
They viewed that rulers had launched military operations on behest of US-led alliance states for getting millions of dollars on head of innocent tribal people. They held the government responsible over the turbulent situation in Federally Administrative Tribal Areas.
Tahir Afridi demanded for immediate halt of ongoing military operation in Bara Khyber Agency and rest of the tribal region. "All basic human rights have been violated due to existing draconian Frontier Crime Regulation Act in tribal areas", they observed. Sharif is determined if PTI comes into power, it will expose corrupt rulers and bring back looted national exchequer in the country.
