Activity at Karachi and Qasim ports

The Karachi Port handled 145,389 tonnes of cargo comprising1 109,551 tonnes of import cargo and 35,838 tonnes of export cargo including 6,239 loaded & empty containers during last 24 hours ended at 0700 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 109,551 tonnes comprised of 48,462 tonnes of containerised cargo; 349 tonnes of general cargo; 32,937 tonnes of bulk cargo and 27,803 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 35,838 tonnes comprised of 25,330 tonnes of containerised cargo; 101 tonnes of general cargo and 10,407 tonnes of bulk cargo. Three ships with two container ships and one cement carrier respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. Four vessels with two container ships, one oil tanker and one cement carrier respectively are currently at the berths.

A total number of six ships namely CV New Delhi Express, MV Seagull-D, MV Hiba Al-Nour-B, MV Mercy Wisdom, MV Ikan Bayan and MT Harsandi are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, wheat, canola seeds, chemicals and furnace oil respectively during last 24 hours. As many as four ships namely MSC Reunion, PVT Sea Lion, Sciroco and CSD Batan Anniai with container, palm oil, diesel oil and dredger respectively are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
A total number of four vessels viz MSC Reunion, PVT Sea Lion, Sciroco and CSD Batan Anniai with containers, palm oil, diesel oil and dredger respectively are expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Multi Purpose Terminal (MW-1) respectively on Saturday.
