Three persons including a leader of Katchi Rabita Committee (KRC) were killed late Sunday night, when unidentified gunmen opened fire on people sitting at a hotel in Lyari area, Aaj News reported. According to the channel, unidentified men opened fire on people sitting at a hotel in Aagra Taj Colony, Lyari.
As a result, a leader of KRC, Abdul Rasheed Katchi, and his bodyguard died on the spot while an Assistant Sub-Inspector, Khalil, and four people sustained serious injuries. Later, the ASI succumbed to his injuries during treatment.
The bodies and injured were shifted to a local hospital. Following the incident, residents of the area took to roads and burnt tyres to protest against the incident. Meanwhile, Pakistan People's Party (PPP) MNA Nabeel Gabol has condemned the incident and requested Prime Minister Gilani to intervene into the matter. Gabol threatened to resign from National Assembly, if the culprits are not arrested within three days, the channel added.
