Punjab Highway Petrol (PHP) has foiled a highway dacoity after an encounter. According to details, Punjab Highway Patrol Post Hardev, Sheikhupura received information from PHP helpline 1124 that five armed men were trying to intercept the vehicles near Chachukey link road with the intention to commit dacoity.
PHP team rushed the spot but on seeing the team, the accused opened fire at it. In retaliation,the team fired back. However, the accused managed to flee away in the nearby crops by taking the advantage of darkness. Due to timely and brave effort, PHP team foiled the dacoity.
In another incident, PHP team Qutabpur, Lodhran received information that four unknown persons boarded in a car had snatched two gold rings and cash Rs 2600/- from Rehmat Ali and his wife near 321/WB and fleed away towards Khanewal.
PHP team surrounded the area and intercepted the said car and arrested four accused, namely Ijaz Hussain, M Akram, M Mubashir and Saika.
