Deepika Padukone’s epic-drama ‘Padmaavat’ recently hit theatres and has already been declared blockbuster in its first week of its release. The film has been facing trouble since its initial announcement last year. Director Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Deepika Padukone even received open death threats by some fringe groups.
After the success of the movie, Deepika was asked did a thought that this movie won't release came in her mind and did it bother her or did she feel depressed, to which she said, “No, I don't think. I would have given my life too if I had to make this film release because that is my right as a citizen of this country it is the right of everyone to ensure that when you create something, people have the opportunity to view and to see and to enjoy and to experience. So, if this film took me down that path where I would have to go to extreme way to whatever it took to make this film release, I would have done that,” Pinkvilla reported.
“I was very very certain that it would release. Yes, I can say that I wasn't sure when it was going to happen, but I was very very sure that it would happen at some point,” she added.
Recently, the cast including Shahid Kapoor, Deepika and Ranveer Singh celebrated the success of the movie. Deepika also got flowers and a note from Neetu and Rishi Kapoor.
The actor couple attended a special screening of their new film earlier this week and they were so impressed with her portrayal of Rani Padmavati in the film. While Ranveer also received award of appreciation from Amitabh Bachchan for his brilliant performance.
